Notes from the Importer: Since 1932, Azienda Agricola Pezzuoli has grown Lambrusco grapes, initially at the historical winery in Carpi village and now in a new facility located in the hills of Maranello, also home to the Ferrari factory. The winery has always been a family-owned and run business; they produce wines strictly from their own vineyards, managed and located in the best agricultural areas of “Lambrusco DOP” grapes, which they have cultivated for nearly a century. With a deep respect for mother nature and a fully sustainable farming system with organic-certified vineyards, they are able to produce Lambrusco wines of the highest quality which have received national and international awards and recognition, most recently including the Vinitaly wine fair award for Best Sparkling Wine of 2022.
Besides their strong commitment to protecting their vines and grapes, they also strongly value and respect family and employees - mainly Paola Fontanesi and Ludovica Pezzuoli - considering them a key factor to their success. Paola ran the winery for decades, is a proprietary owner of vineyard land, and is still a part of the decision-making process. Ludovica ran the company for decades and today she owns over 35 hectares of vineyards, influencing the quality of the Lambrusco made in the Pezzuoli name. Ludovica, Paola, and her son, Alberto, are the engine and the heart of Pezzuoli, making fabulous Lambrusco with love and dedication for 90 years.
