Notes from the Importer: The short story is @collincooks met Philip Lardot in France during harvest 2013 and proceeded to talk Philip into going to the Mosel where he met the eccentric Dr. Stein and now, years later, they (Stein and Philip) have a sort of master / grasshopper relationship.
A new wine for Philip Lardot is this mineral and deep rosé made from 100% Pinot Noir. 2021 was an unusually cold and difficult vintage for the area so making a red Pinot Noir would not have given a wine of the desired quality for Philip. Instead the decision was made to do a very light skin contact rosé, some direct press, some only 24 hours, which was pressed and barrel aged for over six months and bottled in May.
