Before taking over, Mathieu was a rugby player and then worked at Domaine Huet, which is one of the most highly regarded estates in Vouvray. \u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eDomaine du Facteur is the more natural and playful brand of the estate. Facteur is the French word for postman. These cuvees are named after the 1920s-1940s postmen who would ride their bikes to deliver mail. It was customary in France to offer wine to the postmen. Biodynamic preparations are used as well. The estate has 11 hectares of vines. Land is plowed by horse (mostly done by Mathieu). Harvest is done by hand. Fermentation occurs with indigenous yeast.
