Notes from the Importer: It all began a few years ago when Ilona decided to strike out on her own and launch her own farm and winery. She found a small, secluded house in the hills of Saxon, a magical place surrounded by apricot trees, where she decided to realize her dream of independence.
After finding a few sheep, two donkeys, chickens, apricot trees, and some vines, she begins her adventure. The name is perfect: ô faye, in local dialect, means sheep. Ô Fâya Farm, the sheep farm, will blend tradition and modernity, respect for the elders and an eye toward the future.
After a trial year in 2020, Ilona is launching herself into 2021. Unfortunately, as for all her colleagues in the canton, 2021 will go down as the worst year in agricultural history. It will leave its mark, particularly on apricot cultivation, which will gradually be sidelined.
Every cloud has a silver lining, as the saying goes, and 2021 also brought Ilona the man who would become her life partner, who gradually joined the adventure, adding his own animals, vines and ideas.
