Notes from the Importer: In the homeland of Lambrusco, Roberto Maestri has managed the Azienda Agrciola Quarticello since 2007, a 5-hectare estate certified organic since 2015.
Roberto graduated in Viticulture and Oenology from the University of Bologna and in 2007 he decided to make wine from his own grapes, which the family previously delivered to the winery.
Quarticello's approach is absolutely natural and in keeping with traditional processes, as he has always been used to drinking natural wine at home.
Like all natural wine producers, he had to fight against prejudice and clichés before establishing himself, but this did not change his production philosophy and he is now recognised as one of the most talented winemakers in the region.
