Notes about the wine: Just how the phrase "a fistful of flowers" is laden with muscle and leanness, this bottling of orange from Memento Mori wears flower and power through the nose and then the palate. Frangipani and ginger whirl the bouquet into heady aromatics and zesty sun-baked apricots undergird the body.

Notes from the Winemaker:  Momento Mori Wines was born out of a simple desire to make wines that first and foremost have respect for the living. They are crafted with consideration and integrity throughout the entire process. And ultimately (and selfishly) are wines that I wanted to drink and share with others

My wife Hannah and I farm two small plots of approx 0.75 hectare each on our property in Gippsland Victoria. The vineyards are situated at 400m above sea level, tucked into the steep hill-sides on the Strezelecki Ranges. 

We also farm another small 1.5 hectare plot beneath the Black Snake Ranges in the Tonimbuk valley. 

We farm according to strict organic principles and have an upmost respect for the living and dynamic systems around us. 

As well as the vineyards we farm we are also fortunate enough to work with some like minded and very fastidious growers throughout Victoria. We source high quality fruit that has been nurtured with the same philosophies in mind and we are ever encouraging and striving for more sustainable and natural farming practices.

All of the wines we produce are the definition of hand-made. Small ferments, wild yeast, no new oak or mechanical pumps used on the wines, no fining or filtering and no additions, including no S02 at any stage of wine making. -MM
