Notes from the Importer: The couple met when Edouard was doing an internship at the vineyard that belonged to Pauline's mother's restaurant, where Pauline worked as a chef. Edouard was there for about 1 year to start his career.
A few years later, Pauline's mother sold her business, and with the help of that they acquired their new home and wine cellar.
Their lands are scattered around the basement, and amount to about 5 ha of completely (today) unsprayed land. The couple does not spray their land with anything, but lets everything grow freely and beautifully so that there is a strong dynamic in the soil. They mostly work with the locally common grapes such as Syrah, Grenache, Carignan, Clariette, etc.
Up until now, Eduard has taken care of Mada's production, but now Pauline and Eduard are equally involved in all harvesting and all decisions. The colleagues around believe that Mada, who has always been good, will now be absolutely top class because of that.
The couple works completely zero zero. Never sulphur, never copper, never nitrogen. Completely clean. They themselves like a low-tannin style, so many of the wines are pink, orange or generally light.
The couple is very close to Olivier Cohen, Julie Brosselin and Ivo Ferreria (winemakers in the area) and they make wine together every year.
