Notes from the Importer: When Henry-Frédéric Roch established Domaine Prieuré Roch in 1988, he brought with him the exacting standards of DRC and a philosophy he describes not as "making" wine but as managing a natural process—listening to and stewarding the vines through the seasons. The result is a collection of wines so vibrant and refined that they've become emblematic of what's possible when tradition and minimal intervention are practiced with vision and humility.

2022 posed myriad challenges, from drought to labor shortages, but the quality of the resulting grapes (and therefore wine) was exceptional. In fact, 2022 has been compared to 2002, famously one of the domaine’s best. Because the harvest was so abundant, Prieuré-Roch faced a choice: green harvest to meet appellation yield limits or declassify the wine as Vin de France and bottle everything without artificial reduction. They chose the latter, refusing to discard perfectly healthy fruit for bureaucratic compliance.

Sourced from 1.68 hectares in Ladoix, this is a wine of transparency and vivacity, featuring notes of bright red cherry, raspberry, and peony, layered with wet earth and allspice. Serve this cool when you need a glass of something lovely and witness what happens when Prieuré-Roch's exacting standards meet a unicorn year of wild abundance.
