Notes from the Importer: Mare Nostrum Vini is a unique project founded by Antoine Isenbrandt and Athénaïs de Béru (the winemaker behind Chablis' biodynamic Château de Béru) that celebrates the unique identity of the Mediterranean basin. Operating as a specialized négociant, Isenbrandt sources native, organically farmed grape varieties from trusted growers along coastal regions like Roussillon, Languedoc, and Sicily, which are then transported to the cold underground cellars of Château de Béru in Burgundy for minimal-intervention vinification and patient maturation. Each cuvée in their portfolio is conceptually named after a specific regional maritime wind—such as Siroc, Marín, and Tramuntana—that directly impacts the climate and character of the vines, resulting in expressive, mineral-forward natural wines wrapped in minimalist, monochrome labels inspired by the changing colors of the Mediterranean Sea.
